SEIRPC provides comprehensive transportation planning services for southeast Iowa. Staff is supported by federal planning grants to reduce cost of service to the region.

SERVICES PROVIDED

Transportation Planning Affiliate Region 16

• Plans for and programs federal Surface Transportation Block Grant (STBG) and Transportation Alternative (TA) funds totaling approximately $2.6 million annually

Prepares and Maintains the Region 16 Suite of Federal Transportation Planning Documents

• Transportation Improvement Program (TIP)
• Public Participation Plan (PPP)
• Transportation Planning Work Program (TPWP)
• Passenger Transportation Plan (PTP)
• Long-Range Transportation Plan (LRTP)

Traffic Counting for Cities, Counties, and State DOT

• Traffic counts provide local governments with detailed analyses of traffic volume, functional class, speed, direction, and following distance. These counts are particularly helpful on local streets where traffic counts are not regularly conducted by the Iowa DOT.
