Grant Administration Assistant


Southeast Iowa Regional Planning Commission (SEIRPC) in West Burlington, IA, (www.seirpc.com) is seeking a Grant Administration Assistant to support a fast-paced and dynamic regional organization. Work will include supporting grant administration for federal and state grants for water, sewer, road, electrical grid, and other projects.


SEIRPC is looking for candidates who work well with a team, are organized, driven, curious, possess strong verbal and written communication skills, are able to read and work with a variety of documents like budget and accounting statements, grant awards, federal and state regulations, and be proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Suite, Office 365 and online applications. 


Duties include but are not limited to completing draw requests, data input, going to construction sites and completing employee interviews, completing quarterly reports, working with federal and state agencies, southeast Iowa communities and residents, and attending city council, county supervisor and construction meetings. 


This position performs work under the Assistant Director and Grant Administrator. Education requirements include a minimum of an AA degree and/or five years’ experience in an office environment with background in office administration and management, paralegal work, accounting, business administration, business management, education or similar. Public sector experience a plus but not required.


The work schedule is flexible from 25-32 hours/week, Monday – Friday and includes participation in the Iowa Public Employees’ Retirement System (IPERS) pension plan.
